About WILL

Growing up, my mom transformed from dental hygienist to social worker and family therapist. My dad, a criminal defense attorney, loved his work. We had lively mock trials at dinner.

But one night, he didn’t come home. Arrested for embezzlement, he was disbarred. His career crumbled, while my mom thrived, embracing metaphysics and moving to California.

Witnessing this, I avoided law school, diving into public health and coaching.

In 2010, I began coaching lawyers seeking fulfillment, eventually launching WILL in 2017.

Now, dozens of women find joy and connection through our program, escaping the soul-crushing norms of big law.

You might feel distracted, overwhelmed, and trapped, but change is possible. WILL is here to help you achieve it.

Our Story

How It All Started

In 2016, just after a milestone birthday, I received a wake up call from the universe.

I was on vacation with my family in Cape Cod. One morning at 5:30 am, I woke up as an idea shook me out of bed. I slid over to the couch and wrote feverishly. The words “women interested in leaving law” flowed out of my pen. I knew I had to create WILL.

Two years earlier my mom had died.  By the summer of 2016 I was through the worst of the grief.

I was also fresh off the success of helping some amazing women leave big law. Our work inspired me beyond anything else in my professional experience.

The success of these women, plus my personal story of having an attorney father who lost his way, unlocked something inside me. (More on my dad below.)

After that Cape vacation, I summoned my courage, and told my business partner (and best friend!) I wanted to branch out on my own to create WILL.

Team WILL

Everyone at WILL is a champion, rooting for you! From the admin team who makes sure you have everything you need to get started, to the WILL coaches who coach attorneys in WILL alongside me, you are in good hands.

Founder and CEO of WILL

Elena Deutch

I’m Elena Deutch, Career Catalyst, Podcaster and Business Clairvoyant.

The women I serve in WILL, come from all walks of legal life (not just big law). If you feel stuck, unhappy and long for clarity, I can guide you to figure out what else you could do (that ticks all the boxes – money and lifestyle included!)

By the end of our time together, many have left their firms/jobs for something new that’s uniquely suited for them. Or they choose to stay in their firms or the law (more happily and with new mindset/boundaries).

Not a lawyer myself, my lawyer-who-got-disbarred-father’s example caused me to forgo law and veer into public health, leadership training and coaching.

After becoming a coach, I attracted lawyers who wanted greater meaning, fulfillment and alignment. This is how WILL came to be.

Experienced Clinician & Executive Coach

Cory Logan

I’m Cory Logan, licensed clinician and enthusiastic WILL coach.

In graduate school, I had a wise professor remark that “we spend more time at work than we do with our families and friends.” I was stunned by this simple statement. Work not only provides us with a means to support ourselves, but it also frequently provides us with our identity and our sense of purpose. I knew then that I wanted to empower others to find their true purpose, achieve success, and pursue their passions in the workplace.

I have dedicated my entire career as a clinician, as a Director of a national non-profit, and as an executive coach to helping people attain a good “fit” between their professional roles and their personal lives. For the past 15 years, I have served as an executive coach and consultant with numerous law firms, including Sullivan & Cromwell, Wachtell, and Debevoise & Plimpton, helping leaders accomplish their goals, develop their strengths, and realize their full potential.

All this has led me to WILL. I am honored to have the opportunity to support WILL members on their journey to find work that lifts their spirits and is worthy of their time, their skills, and their unique strengths.

When I am not doing this work that I love, you can find me seeking out sunshine wherever possible, on a quest with my husband to find the perfect hamburger, or chasing after my two sons and large fluffy dog.

Certified Leadership & Team Effectiveness Coach

Jenni Ingram

I am Jenni Ingram, and I love coaching people to grow in their strengths, leadership and make decisions that create space for more joy in their lives.

Over the years, I’ve coached individuals and consulted with organizations in the areas of team effectiveness, organizational culture, and strategic planning. I have a Master of Social Work plus certifications in Clark Wilson Group: 360° Feedback Surveys, Flawless Consulting, Action Learning, and Financial Coaching.

Outside of work, I explore cities through running, photography and finding the best spots for coffee, food, and ice cream. I am always ready for the next mountain hike, and enjoy nature to its fullest. I am training for my fourth marathon!

I love working with WILL members, and witnessing them transform their lives. I’ve seen this both in my work with individual WILL members and through being part of retreats and on our Community Calls. I’m proud to be part of this team and am happy to explore supporting you in YOUR WILL journey!

I look forward to connecting!

Transformation Coach & Business Advisor

Kim Fowler

I’m Kim Fowler and I’ve dedicated the last 30 years to mastering the art of transformation through advocacy, facilitation, and coaching. I support individuals seeking to live their lives free from the conditioning that hinders their true potential.

As a child, I dreamed of being a diplomat. Yet, like many, I got swept up in the cultural script of “being real for a black girl.” I studied Russian language and politics as an undergraduate, then worked as an investment advisor for a bank. Finding that world unfulfilling, I earned a law degree, became a trial attorney, married, and had two sons.

My life took a sudden turn when my husband, also a lawyer, passed away unexpectedly. Over the next twenty-five years, supported by brilliant mentors and teachers, I immersed herself in personal development and human transformation.

Evolving from practicing attorney to executive coach and business advisor, I’m thrilled to join WILL and driven by a passion for helping lawyers fulfill their true calling with joy. An avid writer and self-publisher, I also host writer’s circles at my homegrown kitchen table press on Long Island, NY.

Former Lawyer & WILL Alumna Turned WILL Coach

Ghazal Tajmiri

I am Ghazal, and if anyone had told me when I signed up for WILL in spring 2021 that just two years later I would return—not as a client, but as a coach—I would have thought they were crazy…

But that’s exactly what happened. A few weeks after receiving my coaching certification, I had a “catch up” call with Elena Deutsch (she/her) and received a job offer I hadn’t even known existed (AND at a rate that rivaled what I was making as a lawyer!).

I didn’t sign up for WILL to become a coach. I had no idea what I wanted to do! All I knew was that I had been unhappy in corporate law for too long, and post-2020, my tolerance for that was gone. The pay, accolades, and “prestige” were just not worth it anymore. I wanted to own my time on my terms and earn money doing something that I enjoyed (or at least didn’t find soul-crushing most days).

I can’t tell you how much I jumped up and down with joy after Elena’s call with the offer. It was a huge affirmation of an important lesson that I had been internalizing over the past two years: We don’t have to know exactly where we’re going to take small steps toward finding out. If we listen to the whisperings in our heart (and ignore/quiet our naysaying mind) just enough to take one small step after another, we will essentially build our own staircase to a more fulfilling life as we go along. The possibilities and our potential are SO MUCH greater than we can imagine when we are stuck in place.

I didn’t really believe all that back then. I was just tired of being stuck. WILL helped me give myself the time and space to explore, learn, and evolve in a structured and guided way. It supported me through uncertain baby steps that (slowly but surely) led to a career and business that aligns with my true self.
