It’s been 10 years since my mom, Suzy Lowinger passed away. As she was dying, she became more and more filled with light. (It didn’t hurt that she went platinum a few weeks before).
That was quintessential Suzy, squeezing every bit out of life, going blonde a month before she dies.
I miss her terribly, especially on this day.
But I also have to admit that her death was a relief.
She went quickly and spared herself and us a long tortuous decline.
While she is one of my favorite people ever, she was not always easy.
An intimate relationship with Suzy carried a level of intensity that was not for the faint of heart.
If you had any interest in living an unexamined life, she was not your girl.
I have to confess that I got some of this from her. As a coach, I get to be with people in real, intimate and honest ways.
It’s such an honor.
I do not know if I would’ve had the bandwidth to start WILL if she was still alive.
She requested a lot of my energy. And I gave it. (With my current lens, I’m not sure I would again.)
Her passing liberated me to do work in the world that also frees others.
I could never fill enough posts with all the things I learned from her, but here’s one…
Recently, while cooking dinner, and scooping out an avocado with a perfect spoon, I remembered her saying:
“Elena, always use the right tool for the job.”
This 10-year anniversary has me thinking about how quickly time goes.
A WILL Alumni shared this with a new Member, as to why she started…
She said, “How many years can you keep saying, ‘I’ll only do this one more year.’?”
I am truly pausing to think about some of the big changes I’ve made in the last couple of years…
Leaving my marriage.
Boys going to college.
So much openness.
What do I choose to create next?
In WILL? In Business Clairvoyance Coaching? In my next relationships? In these next years of my life?
My mom died just shy of her 74th birthday. That seems pretty young to me now.
What will I create next?
I do know that it includes helping you figure out what you’d love next.
In your career.
In a business.
That, I’m great at.
If anything from my mom’s life, or my words resonate or inspire you… wait no longer.
