“Until we are all free, none of us are free.”-Emma Lazarus
“This is true freedom: Our ability to shape reality. We have the power to initiate, create and change reality rather than only react and survive it.” – Yaacov Cohen
Tonight is the beginning of the Passover and Easter holidays.
As I’m Jewish, Passover themes have been on my mind.
It’s a chance for cleaning out, leaving behind what doesn’t serve us, including thoughts and mindsets that are tight, narrow, or hold us back.
For this is our response-ability, as Jewish thinker and Holocaust survivor, Vicktor Frankel says in Man in Search of Meaning:
“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” – Viktor E. Frankl
So on this holiday weekend, I invite you to notice thoughts that are tight, restrictive, and make you feel bad in your body.
Just notice.
Then decide: Do I want to continue to think this thought?
What else could I think that feels… light, expansive, opening?
For women who want to leave big law, the noise in your head is the biggest barrier.
“Everything is figureoutable.” – Marie Forleo
Including how to overcome and move through all the doubt, fears, and worry.
Because what do we want to do – stay stuck?
Or have the courage to dip a toe into the Red Sea? There’s a story that says, the sea didn’t part until someone stepped in.
Insight comes from action, not thought alone. – Marie Forleo
For today, this weekend, allow yourself to notice the tight, limiting thoughts and choose grace, kindness, and the belief that resurrection is possible.
Want more freedom of mind, body, and spirit? To overcome feeling alone and unsure?
