As a lawyer, you are probably well trained in “either/or” thinking.
You may think things like…
…I either make big law money, or I’ll earn nothing.
…I’m either a lawyer, or I don’t know what else I am.
…I either suck it up, or I’m a loser.
I recently came across a book by Debbie Ford, The Right Questions: Ten Essential Questions to Guide You to an Extraordinary Life.
Ford writes that each of us has a fire inside us. The flame is our desire, our purpose and our knowing. Each decision we make either fuels or squelches it.
Here are a few of her either/or questions to help you discern whether your decisions are putting you on the path to fuel you towards your desires or not.
Will I use this situation as a catalyst to grow and evolve, or will I use it to beat myself up?
Will this choice propel me towards an inspiring future, or will it keep me stuck in the past?
Will this choice add to my life force or will it rob me of my energy?
Write them on post-it notes or index cards. Put them on your mirror. Slip them into your book or journal.
Let the clarity of an either/or question guide you. Your brain is trained to like that kind of dichotomy, so use it to your advantage!
When applying this to WILL, ask yourself…
Could booking a consultation be a catalyst to grow and evolve?
Could it propel me towards an inspiring future?
Will it enhance my life force?
If you feel a “YES,” we are here to fuel your FIRE! Book your call today!
P.S. After reading this book, I researched more about Debbie Ford. I saw, shockingly, that she had died at 57. That’s just two years older than me.
Time is not promised.
If this calls to you at all, book a call.
