Quote #1
From Jen Sincero’s book, You Are a Badass at Making Money. If you don’t know her and her “Badass” series – she is hilarious, energetic and poignant.
“Time spent rationalizing the mediocre, could be time spent creating the magnificent.”
I share this with you because I hear so much of the “cant’s”, worries and fears.
Who is this invisible “they” that has power over us?
This brings me to…
Quote #2
It’s a little bit of tough love but I’ve got to share it. I want you to be able to look at your thoughts more objectively.
“Argue for your limitations, and you get to keep them.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Quote #3
Today I spoke with a woman who is in pain. The doubts and fears are on a loop in her head. She’s stuck in negative, circular thoughts.
I shared with her and I offer you. It’s time to take some action because…
“Clarity comes from action, not thought.”
– Marie Forleo, entrepreneur/teacher
Because I want you to say “Enough with the rationalizations, fears and arguing for limitations!”
This was my big take away from the call last week. Progress may be slower than some people want. But it IS happening. It begins with doing, not thinking.
Your challenge:
Begin creating your magnificence! It cannot happen instantaneously. It does happen one thought and action at a time.
Do one thing. Do not judge it for its magnitude. Some ideas:
Take five deep breaths slowly.
Write a love letter to your future self. Ask her for guidance.
Invite the person from college or law school whose doing something interesting out for coffee.
Pick one achievable act you can take in the next week.
Notice what happens to rationalizing the mediocre.
Let me know how it goes!
